What if work started before the required permit was issued?
Contact Toronto Building and establish the permit path before continuing work that requires a permit.

The City says work must stop while the required application is processed. Additional administrative fees, remedial work and delays can follow. Hiring a contractor does not remove the homeowner’s responsibility.
Record the scope and work already completed. Discuss the next steps with the City and the appropriate design professional. Do not treat an application submission as approval to continue.
