BuildRules is built to make published rules easier to use without pretending a general web answer is municipal approval.
Official sources first
Municipal and provincial sources are the starting point. Each consequential rule keeps a source link attached.
Verification has a date
Rules change. BuildRules records when a source was reviewed and flags content that needs another check.
General and property-specific are different
A city-wide threshold is not the same as a conclusion about a specific lot. Zoning, overlays and site conditions can change the answer.
Uncertainty stays visible
When the evidence does not justify certainty, the interface says so. “Requires verification” is a valid result.
No approval claims
BuildRules provides research and guidance from published sources. Permits and approvals remain with the responsible authority.
Corrections beat stale confidence
Sources can be marked for review, pages can return to draft, and updated rules replace outdated conclusions.
