New company submissions enter moderation first. BuildRules checks relevance, basic completeness, service-area fit and obvious spam or impersonation risks before a profile can be published. Publication means the listing is allowed in the directory. It is not an endorsement.
Search indexing
A published profile can remain noindex when it does not yet have enough useful information. BuildRules uses a quality gate so the directory does not manufacture thin pages just to create search inventory.
Claimed
Claimed means an approved account can manage the company profile. Ownership access is reviewed separately from verification.
Verified
Verified is a BuildRules review state and cannot be purchased. It may include checks such as control of a relevant business email/domain and consistency of the company identity presented publicly. A Verified badge does not mean BuildRules has guaranteed licensing, insurance, workmanship, code compliance or project outcomes.
Featured
Featured is an editorial or operational designation controlled by BuildRules. It is not automatically created by a paid plan.
Sponsored
Sponsored placement is paid distribution. It is labelled “Sponsored” wherever it influences placement. Buying Sponsored does not create Verified or Featured status and does not alter municipal guidance.
Badges and links
Company badges link back to the company’s BuildRules profile as a referral and trust signal. The provided embed uses a branded, nofollow link. BuildRules does not require companies to install backlinks as a condition of listing, ranking or verification.
Corrections
Every published profile can be reported for inaccurate, outdated, abusive or impersonating information. Owner-submitted profile changes are moderated before they replace the public version.
Professional decisions
Directory profiles do not replace municipal review, licensing checks, insurance verification, contracts or professional due diligence. Confirm the qualifications that matter for the specific project before hiring.
